Fashion Fest 2010 is an All-Stars Relay for Life event.. as was Fashion Expo 2008 and 2009.   The team captain for The All-Stars in 2008 and 2009 was Nikki Mathieson.. who also worked with Autumn Fairlane and Lexi Morgan on Fashion Expo, both years…  Nikki, did not have the large shop, at a landing point, in either expo nor does she have one at Fashion Fest..  to clear up any ideas of ‘conflict of interest’.  Fashion Expo 2009 was across 4 mainland sims and held about 35 exhibitors.  Fashion Fest spans 9 full regions and is now up to about 120 exhibitors.  What else is at Fashion Fest?

… 9 sims of an amazing build contributed by builders who were interested in helping out with a charitable cause.  It’s about 120 Exhibitors, who have fantastic shops set up here and have contributed gorgeous one of a kind or limited edition designs to the Silent Auction for Relay For Life.  It is about a multitude of live musicians and dj’s who have come to perform and provide entertainment, along with bringing members of their group to Fashion Fest.  It’s about a cause ..  it’s about raising money to go towards cancer research.. it’s about bringing awareness to the huge amount of work being done, in SecondLife, to go towards taking out the sadness .. the sorrow.. that cancer brings to families, everywhere.

I apologize to the Designers, coordinators, musicians and anyone else involved with trying to work together to raise that awareness and to bring lindens to the kiosks..   I apologize for the gossip, the lies, the assumptions that have marred this event..  it is sad, it is selfish and it is not surprising, in SL.

We are still working hard..  We’ll see Fashion Fest through because it is a GREAT event and we’re very proud of it.  As a team, we’ve raised more than 2 million lindens this season for Relay For Life, and are in 3rd place out of appr 200 teams.  You can change a lot of things when you’re relaying stories amongst each other.. but you can’t change.. what is.. the truth.

Fashion Fest Registrations Still Going On!

We’re still taking registrations for Fashion Fest 2010.. and we’re all getting so excited.  Processing registrations has just begun and the list of Exhibitors this year is going to be soooo  awesome.

The Benefits of being a 2010 Fashion Fest Sponsor are as follows:

SL Fashion Fest 2010 ~ July 2-11 ~ 9 SIMS!

 

The All-Stars Relay For Life team would like to cordially invite you to participate in our 3rd Annual Fashion Expo, now called the Fashion Fest!  Fashion Expo 2009 was an incredible success, raising over 1 million lindens for the American Cancer Society and bringing thousands of shoppers to some of SL’s BEST Fashion Designers! 

Fashion Fest 2010 will take place July 2nd – July 11th, 2010 and combines a mixture of different designers and talents into one area that will span 9 sims!  Everything from clothing, to hair, to shoes, to skins, to shapes, to jewelry, to poses and more will be represented!  If it’s about FASHION, we’ll have it.

As in year’s past, there will be three shop sizes available with different prim allotments and entry fees.  

All entry fees will be used to defray the cost of land rental with any remaining funds being contributed to Relay for Life.  Sim sponsorships will also be sold in a very limited quantity as well as excellent Fashion Fest advertising opportunities.

Besides an entry fee, additional requirements to being a Fashion Fest Exhibitor is a requirement to display, in the Fashion Fest shop, a minimum of TWO original items (these can be any items and do not need to be created exclusively for Fashion Fest, they do need to be your creations), that will be sold in All-Stars Relay For Life vendors.

We will also have a One of a Kind and a Limited Edition Silent Auction that will take place the entire week of Fashion Fest, and designers are requested to contribute a piece for either ONE of those auctions.  Of course, designers are welcome to create a piece for both auctions, but only one is required. 

There will be a Fashion Show every day of the Fest.  Showcase Fashion Shows will feature Designers Choice Items, where our exhibitors will get to choose what is being displayed in the Fashion Show.  Every sim will have a Fashion Stage and a Showcase Fashion show will be conducted on each one.  There will also be a One of a Kind Fashion Show and a Llimited Edition Fashion Show, which will display the items up for auction and created exclusively by our designers for Fashion Fest.  Some of SL’s best Fashion Agencies will be assisting to coordinate these fashion shows.  The final fashion fest show will be a Valentino/Lagerfeld Tribute Show and participation in this is on a voluntary basis. 

Additional Fashion Fest entertainment will include Live music, a fabulous daily prize raffle and a voluntary participation designer’s scavenger hunt.  Live broadcasting on favorite radio stations and SL TV will take place in this year’s Fashion Fest press booth.  There will also be a Designers Only Ball with some of the best SL musicians performing and giving our Designers an opportunity to have an enjoyable evening being part of the Fashion Fest community.

This year’s theme will be SL’s Back to the Future!  Each sim will be a different location and point in time and the teleport directories will be designed to look like time machines. Once inside the shops, the theme stops.. so the shop’s interiors are all designer’s fashions and selling your designs.
